Green Ball Uraidla in a nail biter!

Division 2 Green ball

In a battle that every game counted, all players gave their absolute all to play every ball that was hit their end.

The team was led by Louis Griffiths who won both, singles (6–3) and top doubles (6–4). He was teamed up with Aiden Kellaway who won his #2 singles convincingly (6–1).

Our bottom doubles had some tough battles against the Nairne team, who showed equal strength from 1 through to player 4. Our bottom doubles of Bailey Kellaway and Harry Begg lost (2–6) as they were out classed by the Nairne pair.

Bailey went on to battle Mitchell Mills in spot 3. With the games locked in at 5 all, it came down to the deciding game for Mitchell to prevail over Bailey in a tight contest (5–6).

In our number 4 spot, the score does not reflect the tireless rallies that Uraidla Anthony Rosa had against Henry Maher, eventually going down (2–6). The rallies were long and competitive with both boys working hard for every point.

When all games were complete, the players were anxious about the final result and after triple counting, it was with our pleasure to announce that the Uraidla team were winners by one solitary game!

Final score: Uraidla 3–27 defeated Nairne 3–26

Congratulations to all the players on their great season and much improved games. Thanks to the parents who were a great support to the players during the course of the year. Special thanks to coach Adam for his brilliant coaching and Bianca for her co-ordinating of the junior tennis competition.
